Integrated Charger-Inverter for High-Performance Electric Motorcycles

A high-performance electric motorcycle (HPEM) integrated charger-inverter (ICI) with an induction motor (IM) is proposed in this article. Typical components are shared drive and charge modes, resulting savings of weight, volume, cost. two-stage ICI for AC powertrain power factor correction (PFC) battery charger functions considered. Despite high voltage ripple on the DC link, a bandwidth nonlinear controller can reject such drawback adequately provide constant current or charging process. The simulation results 7 kW provided to validate effectiveness feasibility system. Finite element analysis (FEA) determines torque losses IM mode.
